My only gripe is when Ados cats try to minimize Caribbeans impact on Hip Hop , Civil Rights Movement etc in this country , I know it's not everybody so I ain't generalizing but ya know what I'm talking about .

Reguarding rap, shouts out to Herc; KRS, and others but we were already rapping back to the 1940s. Not to mention, the rap pioneers of the 70s were rhyming/spinning to James Brown(ADOS) and other Soul/Funk music(ADOS music).

As far as the CRM, yes there were Caribbeans like Stokely and Belafonte, but let's not act there were hordes of WI's involved. Prior to 1965, foreign born blacks were less than 1% of the black population. I respect Stokely and other non-ADOS (Garvey, Farrakhan, etc) who advocated for black empowerment, but non-ADOS allies are few and far between.

That's cool bro and I'm aware of all that regarding Hip Hop I'm just saying don't count out our contributions , as long as that's understood ain't no issue .

Didn't Marcus Harvey got kicked out of Jamaica because they weren't feeling pan-Africanism?

:patrice:

and Kool Herc sampled funk music, looked up to James Brown, and pretty much had to assimilate with us.

Jamaicans, Haitian nikkas , etc use to run Brooklyn and NYC in the 1980s and 90s :umad:

Zoe Pound down south :jawalrus:
Be proud of murder, drug mayhem and disenfranchisement of black people that helped contribute to gentrification bc old heads were all locked and didn’t foresee buying up the block with said proceeds, New Jersey brehs. Be from New Jersey, brehs and brag about Brooklyn.

What does that have to do to with contributing though ? I'm not denouncing ya influence so why you feel the need to do that with me ?

& The influence of the Jamaican Sound System is still effective in hip hop till this day btw

What you mean you have nothing in common ?

Hip Hop is something that was created by Jamaicans and Caribbeans, along with Blacks in the Bronx.
That was a different time. These new Diasporan cats are acting funny.

According to Diaspora twitter ADOS folks have no culture, no history blah blah blah.
If they want to play it like that, fine with me. Let draw clear and distinct lines.

A lot of Diasporans make it clear they don't fukk with ADOS and clearly think we are less African and are low class.
Fine with me again. Just don't come hollering to me about peace and unity.

Damn- they sure are protective of their white kkkweens in other countries. This is getting more vitriol and attention than the international child trafficking ring that was recently busted up. The c00n mandem and foreign flag wenchset is out her full cape on for Adele, like whatttt?? They riding in for this white chick like the call list of a United Colors of Benetton ad.

Roasting/joaning is an important part of Black american culture. We've been doing it since before slavery ended FoH

It shows wittiness and cleverness

If you could talk shyt to the slaver owner in his face without him knowing you were witty

IT was a skill

I’m Carribean and I used to have roasting sessions with friends too. I always assumed it was every culture that did it, not just AAs.
