My only gripe is when Ados cats try to minimize Caribbeans impact on Hip Hop , Civil Rights Movement etc in this country , I know it's not everybody so I ain't generalizing but ya know what I'm talking about .
Reguarding rap, shouts out to Herc; KRS, and others but we were already rapping back to the 1940s. Not to mention, the rap pioneers of the 70s were rhyming/spinning to James Brown(ADOS) and other Soul/Funk music(ADOS music).
As far as the CRM, yes there were Caribbeans like Stokely and Belafonte, but let's not act there were hordes of WI's involved. Prior to 1965, foreign born blacks were less than 1% of the black population. I respect Stokely and other non-ADOS (Garvey, Farrakhan, etc) who advocated for black empowerment, but non-ADOS allies are few and far between.
