Okay thank you, I've had stuffed grape leaves before I'm assuming that's the same?
I gotta find a restaurant down here, I love love Greek food because it's so colorful and flavorful. I had some Greek food a while back (some kind of rice and chicken)and it reminded me of Haitian food and I was like:takedat:.

Yes it is like that but definitely different from the Greek recipe, but no doubt inspired by this as well.

Greek food is great I agree. If you enjoy that you'll definitely like Middle Eastern food as well. It shares similarities but without me throwing shade or showing bias, I do think our food has more flavour.

Time for mi to look up some Middle Eastern restaurants in NY and try something new. :ehh:

look for any 'Lebanese' restaurants because that's what they tend to be called. Make sure to order a lot of starters because in restaurants that is the emphasis tbh. The main dishes in various restaurants can be hit and miss so most people opt to eat kebab skewers and the like instead. Main dishes are better eaten in someone's home.

I used to love Jamaican food back when I ate meat. Being a down islander, we eat more ground provisions, compared to the islands in the greater antilles, so my plate would be setup slightly different. Also, don't sleep on Puerto Rican food! Its up there with other island food.
Obviously people are going to prefer their countries plate over another. I never could get into American soul food like that( I love the vegan soul food tho) or mainland African foods. Although similar, my taste buds has developed a thing for spices from the tropics.

Now it's only ital food and stews for me.

I was in St. Albans yesterday, up the block from the Jamaican Flavors by Springfield and Merrick there's another restaurant called Spring Garden that's actually better, IMO.
