ESPN's Molly Qerim: Managing Endometriosis is Like a "Second Job"

"I have to really be diligent about getting my sleep, getting eight hours a night, limiting alcohol and sugar, getting acupuncture once a week. Exercising, meditation. I really implement all of that to keep the inflammation down and keep me feeling like I can be 'on' all the time. The [on-air] light comes on, and I need to be on. When you’re on morning television, people want to see happy, positive people, and my job is 24/7. So in my offtime, it became more about taking care of myself, than maybe other things I would normally do on the weekends. There are times when I can’t leave the house all weekend. Or, I come to work and then it's straight to bed after work. It's the ebb and flow of having a chronic illness. It can be frustrating at times because you’ll feel really good for a while, and then it hits and its like, 'Ugh! You're back.' So it’s kind of like your body is naturally keeping you in check at all times. It has almost become a second job."

Chick got surgery and it still came back

After surgery, how did you feel?

"I did feel much better. I don’t want to act like surgery should be your first choice of treatment, but my endometriosis was so severe. But, unfortunately it didn't last, and the endometriosis came back."

Nah, i married the wrong woman in my mid 20s, like a fool lol

I got a cousin who married the same woman twice though.

Would you say it's usually a mistake getting married in your mid-20s, even if she's a good woman?

I got married in my twenties. Still happily married to the same woman in my forties. I was pretty wreckless during my youth, so settling down is probably the reason I'm alive and free today. I think it depends on the person though. I'd say most folks aren't ready for marriage, not just in their twenties but at all ages these days though. Too much ego, over stimulation, need for instant gratification and lack of willingness to sacrifice for anything other than themselves. None of these traits are conducive to belonging to a healthy partnership.

That's real shyt. I dated a woman that had it and she really wanted to have sex but it just was not pleasurable for her. She would seize up as soon as we got to penetration and you could tell it hurt. She was depressed about it and she felt insecure as a woman. We dated a month,I was really into her but she broke it off,she felt guilty and didn't want us to end on bad terms so she ended it. Great woman, fine as hell but she knew no man would stick around for too long.

damn.

She checked every box as far as what you want in a woman to raise a family with but she knew it was a matter of time before the cheating and lying would start and she didn't want us to end up there. She ended up with a good dude though,he had kids from a previous relationship and was ok with what she had to offer besides the sexual part cause he considered that to be more important for a long term relationship. He was clearly the bigger man here.I could not commit at that age knowing my need for a fulfilling physical relationship and sex drive.

Don’t lie to yourself, he was not a “Bigger” man in that situation. People need sex in a relationship and if that physical and mental intimacy isn’t there, there’s a high likelihood that relationship is going to fail.
