Barbers got people looking like IG models with the level of fakery they pull off using hair fibers and dyes. That pic is even shopped.

Here's his barber and you can see how cheats to make the hair fuller and lines sharper:

you call it cheating, I call it enhancing :yeshrug:

If your hair can't survive rain or a shower it's cheating. That's not what the hair naturally looks like and people think the barber is more skilled than he actually is.

This Cuban cat I knew years and years ago was ahead of the game on this. He used to cut his own shyt and he'd use his aunty's GLH (spray-on hair to hide bald/thinning spots) and sharpen his lines with it. He used to get clowned hard, but little did everyone know it'd eventually become the norm.

Everywhere...You never there.
If I knew now what I knew back then I would be greater like every time I had a cowlick and the barber cut my shyt I didn’t know he was leading me to an early demise
Real comment .

gonna keep it a buck , there’s been some self-defeating, hair cultural norms perpetuated among black males from an early age that could accelerate that demise .

If you have young sons, 1). You should be vigilant about preserving his natural hairline as much as possible ... it’s ok every now and then take him for a sharply edged up cut with a super crispy hairline but by and large , a child doesn’t need and shouldn’t be getting that chiseled geometric shyt regularly for preservation purposes .

2). Once you get past a certain age , you also shouldn’t be getting super crisp , sharp blade edge ups on the regular . Some of y’all might try to dispute that , but I’m tellin y’all , let your hairline breathe... ESPECIALLY if you know your genetics are iffy and your hairline is already compromised

tap your Clippers lightly around the your hairline for regular edge ups and steer clear of razors and super sharp clippers for the day to day ... save that shyt for special events . You can still have a decent lineup without looking extra chiseled .

3). Steer clear of dyes at an early age .

4). Some say it’s a myth , but long loccs and tight braids pulled back over an extended period of time
can accelerate deterioration IMO. Y’all think these females stressing over preservation of edges and “edge control” for nothing ?!! Lol especially for “finer textured” hair .

5). Steer clear of unnatural hair products and wax-based products, especially applying said products on and near your hairline .

Do those things and you could salvage a great deal of time before any genetic-driven demise of your hairline hits .

If you’re a hairline genetically gifted dude ... e.g. Paul George type ... it’s no worries :heh:

Ehh

Barbers judge other barbers skillset off what they can pull off with the clippers and the razor. the spray paint, fibers and all that other shyt takes no skill. Almost all the barbers doing it now tho cuz it lets them jack up the prices

I saw a barber on IG and I was like “oh shyt, this is the best barber ive ever seen”

He asked me if I wanted the “enhancements” and I was like :what:

i let him cut my shyt natural and it was damn near a barber college level cut.

it looks like he has a recent cut in the natural pic

I’m still not understanding how the spray paint is making the waves hit harder tho

Your natural hair is always lighter at the ends (than at the root), which dulls the color of your hair, but when you use a dye, your hair is just all one tone of black - giving it more definition. I know barbers that are starting to use blue-black fibers, cause it emphasizes the black more. That photo is airbrushed too.

First off, regarding the picture in the OP, I think most of us will agree that it looks very much like an Scurl or similar type product photo from the box. Those things are part product, and part photo editing.

No matter how close you zoom on his picture, there's not a single hair out of place.

Judging from the following pic....

My opinion is, he has his natural waves, with some type of spray-on texturizer or in combination with a similar product to Black ice which pronounces the waves even more by adding color, in addition to some photo editing(lighting).

Also, .zoom in on this pic and look at his forehead. It looks like the black ice has smeared in the middle of his forehead.

I hope this becomes the protect your hairline thread.

I live in New York and so many gentlemen got horrible hairlines that they wear hats all the time no matter what I call that collective movement the NY Hat Man Industrial Complex

Also the fibers and spray shyt came from the Mexicans I believe because they been had the spray guns. Dominicans have tricks to that make the hair appear darker. Also certain barbers from certain places that you don’t think have a lot of black people cant be trusted because I’m not sure the black people in Oklahoma can tell how mess up their shyt is because they around white people against a NY guy out in the world. Also letting white people know about hairlines was horrible for us like that’s why Lebron can’t go bald like whites can rock the fukked up hairline and never get the intervention to come home (the greatest metaphorcally way to tell someone to go bald) also big ups to Doc Rivers, Chris Paul and Kobe(before he went scalp bald) for getting their barbers to cut their shyt #000000 low.

Jalen wears du-rags but his forehead has those I’ll call it bruising so it could be from over time the pressure from the du-rag maybe even getting some burn from the relaxer. In the photo it’s enhanced all photos are enhanced especially if they are professionally taken. I’m 100 percent sure Jalen knows exactly what he wants and how to get it across to a barber that’s another thing that fukks us up the barber not understanding since the Covid I brought professional clippers and the spectrum on the lever is so huge then you add in the clipper motor, if the clipper was used earlier so what temperature it’s at, and also the blades themselves so many variables leads to every barber’s 1 and half being like how there’s so many versions of the Bible like why is their an emoji Bible ?

How are these nikkas still maintaining their hairline & hair growth deep into their thirtes & fourties? :mjcry:

Bigen and hair replacement. Lebron tried both and failed badly

I heard jalen rose interviewed on ebro in the morning and he flat out said that his hairline is legit, he got fake teeth when he first made money and that :sadbron: wears a hair system.
