Rams picks will be like 31... They have the best pass rusher and best corner now.. They actually got a good deal. Look at first round picks the last 3 years and see how bust you see.

It doesn’t. Goff is still mid and Gurley is damaged goods. Ramsey gonna want a big contract too so they have to win with this core or they’re stuck with them.How does this make the rams score more than 7 points?
In two years they can cut him and the dead money isn’t nearly as bad as this season or the next. 2021 season is the first season they can cut him and save money on the cap.
ideally 2022 is the best season to drop him but if needed they can ditch him a year earlier.
Honestly the best situation for the Rams is Gurley retires after this season. But that’s long shot.
But maybe he does to them to the next level though. Peters is a zone corner and never fit with Wade Phillips scheme. They tried to run some zone for him after Mike Thomas torched him last year but eventually went back to man because that’s what the defense is built on. Because Peters was so trash, the Rams had to roll coverage to his side all game and it just really put a lot of strain on the defense. If Phillips can just let Ramsey cancel out #1 WRs, that frees up the safeties to roll to the other side or play run support. It’s a completely different defense at that point.
If the Rams are a playoff team towards the end of the season when Talib is back then this is potentially is lockdown secondary headed into the post season. That’s a big deal.
Not saying it will work out that way but I see the reasoning behind the deal.

that oline is old and falling apart and Goff is only good off play action which isn’t very effective without a running game
