I was simply speaking on Jalen like I always have since 2019. Some of you dudes owe @NYC Rebel an apology. 49ers defense exposed a lot of Jalen Hurts flaws and the Cowboys and Seahawks followed suit.
QB okay overall just been average overall. Folks got spoiled with Brady, Manning, Brees, Warner, etc…. Really only Mahomes is out there with the capacity to put on a show.

Is there an All-22 on this play. From this angle its hard to tell if Smith would've been open or if Jalen needed to buy time to give him time to find the opening in the zone.

That pass came out almost immediately when Smith threw up the hands. Smith wasn't open right away, Jalen had to buy time for him to make the cut back and get open. Here's a better view.
I want to watch more tape on him to see the happy feet I just think this example is nitpicking as escaping the pocket seemed to be the right play as no defenders were near that area and gave him a perfectly clean look without even the thought of pressure near him and bought time. If anything this was Jalen actually reading the defense properly and giving himself a great angle to make that throw. He also had to wait on the deep safety to commit to the shorter route to know which receiver to hit.
