First they would have to have a break with the donors/ funding system that they rely on for money and jobs. Then they can demand for more radical “progressive” policies and support better candidates.

This is going to happen either way because the democrats at it current state is not sustainable. Corporate Dems like Manchin are going to destroy the party.
