Katherine Jackson has finally broken her silence ... claiming the reason she hasn't checked in with her grandkids for the past 10 days is because she simply didn't feel like using the phone.

Jackson just phoned in to "ABC News" to talk about the family drama that's transpired since she mysteriously ditched MJ's kids 10 days ago ... and wound up in Arizona.

He also had lupus, which also makes things worse. If you've ever seen pics of him with no make up, you would notice that he had patches of light skin, mixed red spots on his face due to vitiligo and lupus. Now, add that to the fact that he was the most famous person on earth......you got any better ideas?
