He didn't disown his son, he just didn't bail him out of jail and doesn't plan to leave an inheritance, but give it to charity.

If your kids are into drugs, more money gives them access to more drugs. If they want to be in a relationship with a 30 year old homeless person, what does that say about their decision making? If they want to be with a person of the same sex, then they obviously don't care about passing down legacy to the lineage, because they are incapable of continuing one.
