Portman was fantastic. They did a great job with the makeup and costume considering she doesnt at all resemble Mrs Kennedy.

I agree with others in that the film was cold and dark. I remember leaving the theater feeling like something was missing in the film. It didnt really get interesting for me until the 2nd or 3rd act.

Probably unimportant but one of the things that killed me was the funeral scene and they show Jackie and the kids on the steps. They had Jr shoot his gun or something but they didnt show him doing the salute. Every media outlet was talking about Jr's salute! how could they miss that?

I was anticipating that scene the whole film... Easily the most memorable part of the funeral...Idk why it got cut.

A bit of topic by film, but on topic by subject...

Your descriptions of it being haunting remind me of Executive Action.

Chilling to see the jfk assasination actually planned out in detail.

I'm not sure how I felt about the movie. I like Portman's portrayal, in fact I thought everyone did great (Greta Gerwig got next btw), and I absolutely loved the chilling music score, but this seems like the kind of biographical movie that proves that having an interesting person does not automatically make for an interesting story. Although it could also be the so-so screenplay itself, because I thought the interview scenes were all pretty bad (from a writing standpoint). Billy Crudup's character didn't feel like a real journalist at all, constantly dropping blunt, unprofessional remarks and making heavy assumptions that only worked to force tons of plot exposition. The interactions between Jackie and Bobby luckily save a lot and the assassination scenes (moments really) are very haunting indeed.
