Now NY bout to start claiming they made grills :dead:

“Grills has its roots in the Southern United States. This was a cultural element of poor African Americans who couldn’t afford the proper dental work. This turned into a fashion statement throughout the United States.”

Idk who started it but s/o to Houston for being the biggest contributor to grill culture

Yup. We did.

We started the trend of gold “fronts” aka “grills”. If young boy does the research he’d know that multiple gold teeth were made famous by NYC drug dealers, then the rappers and we were made fun of and ridiculed back then. It just was another stereotype white people ran with.

It clearly states that it was popularized by NYC. What’s the issue? You trolling? Or…

Rakim and Flavor Flav had them. Wu Tang was rocking them in the early 90's early 2000's.

Lot of Atlanta people were getting their grills from Famous Eddie's. His original shop was in Jamaica, Queens. He opened a shop in Atlanta in 1992. Matter of fact he made the grills in that Just Ice album cover, Jay's grill, Mike Tyson's, etc. From what I know he's the one who pioneered the removable, customized gold teeth so yes we made grills. Houston didn't start rocking them heavy until the late 90's

Y'all know the jewelry game was basically started by NY hustlers same way they got designer fashion popping through Dapper Dan. Only reason y'all know about rope chains, Cuban links, and fashion is because of us:umad:
