Basically said that he slowly came to the realization starting with the recording of FHD that he can’t live up to the pipe dream of being the “best” because that means different things to different people and he was hinting at that on January 28th with the “You may L or you may be Kane/or you may he slick rick with 19 chains” because every hip hop fan is going to have a different criteria for whose the GOAT.

So he chose to stop chasing it and just wants to be the best for his fanbase

I know.. those the tracks I’m referring to. They all sounded pretty much done to me cuz they at least had 1 verse apiece. Ppl been waitin for that “Temptation” in CDQ for years. I get the FHD anniversary thing but the old Kendrick stuff would’ve been a better sale is what I was sayin. Those 8 bonus tracks gonna keep poppin up and disappearing on YouTube until they finally appear on DSPs

He’d need Kendrick to sign off on those songs being wildly available and i’m sure given present circumstances that ain’t happening.
