I disagree with the general sentiment in here that
he hasn't released GREAT stuff since Friday Night Lights.

Born Sinner KNOCKS and it features a much more mature J. Cole
on the production front. The Sideline Story is cool too but it was just
a "Good" release. I'm listening to the album right now and that marks
another good release for 2014, but I disagree that it's the first good release
he's had in a while. If anything to me, it's just another good release in a string
of good releases.

There's an immense irony in a poster who openly champions an artist
who personifies "vanilla" and "safe" calling J. Cole "safe".

Well i havent heard this but based on BS The Warm UP and FNL its a safe thing to say J cole is a rather safe artist musically in that he does nothing interesting when it comes to cadence, flow, melody, etc. etc.

Tale of 2 Cities is cool, but it sounded like a drake worst behavior type song
all that singing on the hook is cool but couldve did a lil less

I fukks with J.Cole!! Buying this Album

Copped the last one so I'm def getting this one. This is his 3rd studio album and IMO he's getting better and better. If he can get a big breakout single on his next album (like Annie was for Hov), I gotta feeling he's gonna end up being one of the greats.

He is still spitting on that track. A lot faster and more complex than shytty ass rappers on 808s and hi hats.

I think that's the thing that turns off some people. Lyrically J Cole is a beast, and I think that turns some fans off but that's why I fukks with Cole

I was wrong about that 2.5/5 rating..this def gets better with each listen. I think this has a chance to be his most cohesive project yet.

I just wish some of tracks at the end were better..hopefully they grown on me..but i definitely will be supporting this. I haven't bought an album since Life is Good.

it's not gonna win over any naysayers or anything like that. Your standard Cole project, you know what to expect by now. You can argue that it's his best project to date but to someone who isn't a fan, that wont mean much..

I don't think it scratches the upper echelon of albums we've heard this year though.. it's one of the better ones, but it's not in the top 5 or anything.. and anyone using the word classic gotta chill the fukk out

What's top 5 for this year for you? I haven't listened to many albums to be honest with you. Neg/Rep pending

Apparently lots of people were pissed at Trick Trick for doing that shyt to Ross. So if they did it to Cole, who's a fan favorite among many, you might really hear something.

But Cole has Hov on his side. Hov will have all them Detroit nikkas erased from this earth lol.

99' Hov will resurrect and get Memphis Bleek and Beanie Siegel on the case.
