You can’t save a man from himself.
I agree for the most part. Sometimes, no matter what others have tried and done for a person, things just don’t go according to plan.

Sometimes, you have to love people from a distance whose choices may start causing chaos in your life. Family or friends…

Iyanla’s comments are more fitting to the ‘yes’ man, hangerons, and leeches, IMO.

DMX lived a good life despite fighting his demons….

He’s one of the main rappers who has no issue praising God in his music.

That being said, X should have handled his finances better and took his movie career seriously.

I think Exit Wounds is one of his most slept on movies plus it had a banging soundtrack.

1 of my childhood friends is a heroin addict, since his early teens, and throughout our later years I tried to help this dude, I tried to get counsellors for him, but at the end of the day you can lead a horse to water but you can’t make it drink, in the end you could say I gave up trying, but if the addict inside won’t let the soul get help, then you have to think of your own mental well being and walk away, probably what happened with X in terms of people “giving up”

Being a celebrity and an addict is a whole different thing tho, especially being in the music biz like X was, it’s hard to find people that genuinely care when you famous, besides your day ones but then money can change them too .. everybody will always want a piece of that pie

I think it's fair to say throughout his life a lot of people failed DMX.

Yeah and it started with his parents. For most people the circumstances you're born into largely dictate how your life will play out in one way or another.
