I've never seen Superman III and IV

I mainly avoided them because I'd heard people saying everything that was released after Superman II (which is the GOAT superman film.... until the 14th atleast) sucked.



They can't be that bad can they?




Richard Pryor is in one of them isn't he?



I'm not expecting Academy award winning performances when I pop in a superhero flick, and I've noticed people tend to be far too critical of these films even when they're fairly decent ( Green Lantern, Spiderman III, Wolverine Origins, Blade III and X-Men III for example weren't as bad to me as people claimed they were. ). The only superhero films I can honestly say sucked to me were Daredevil, Catwoman and Batman and Robin (1997). All I expect is to see some solid action, a story that's not completely retarded and my fav comic book super hero whooping some butt when I go into these type films and I'm usually left satisfied.



So what's the verdict on those two films?

No one is going to give you shyt for not watching those movies. It'd be something if you were asking about Rocky 3 or 4, BTTF part 3, Die Hard with a Vengeance, etc. The old Superman series isn't held in high regard at all.

If you honestly liked these movies then you'd probably like Superman 3. It wasn't that bad. I mean it was not as good as the first two, at all, but it still had some enjoyment in it.

Superman 4, just.... don't breh.

Edit: Goddamn the dropoff from Superman 1978 to Superman IV has gotta be the 2nd worst series dropoff of all time just behind Batman 1989 to Batman & Robin.

It's the cinema version of the 1960's Batman series. Just a complete joke. I think I read once that Christopher Reeve never even watched the film because he knew when he was making it that it was going to be ass.

I mean the fight was a bit cheesy but that's to be expected from an early 80s film, no? (The fights in Superman II were cheesy and dated as hell also but I still enjoyed the film)

I wasn't disgusted by that scene at all, just extremely disappointed in the whole movie.

The most scene in the flick was the climax when the dude's sister became a cyborg after merging with the supercomputer......​
