I've never believed in pro-athletes being under real "pressure".....

Why do people act like the Heat need to be blown up? They've been deep in the playoffs both years and even if they don't change a thing they'd probably be no worse than the #2 choice to win it all next year. I guess I see why some people are judging them on a different scale than the average team but when you look at the big picture, it doesn't make a ton of sense to do that.

THIS.

Their problems are strictly at the coaching level: Rotations, play running, and someone they respect enough to snap them out of a funk with his words.

Erik aint the one.

...until tonight for the Heat

Usually, it's a big game. You win or you lose. Fans might be sad, but either way, life goes on for the pro athlete quicker than you think. Like Barkley said, "If the worst thing in my life is losing a bball game, then I have a pretty great life."

The Miami Heat though, if they lose tonight(or this series), their "big 3" will probably be split up and IMO will be considered probably the biggest fail in sports history. That whole "not 1 title, not 2 titles, not 3, 4, 5, 6, 7" clip of Lebron will go down in the ultimate joke category. Him and DWade dancing at that celebration. Him and DWade shadow boxing against the Mavs last year.

The very least that will happen is Spoelstra being fired and Pat Riley taking over as head coach. Either way, there's a lot of pressure on the line for tonight. :manny:

:wtf:

I don't think that's a given. He was just given an extension and Riley may think the absence of Bosh was more responsible for the Heats shortcomings than Spo.

i think soccer players who rep their country for the world cup are under a lot of pressure. If they mess up and cost their team a win, they might end up getting bodied when they come back.

i think what it really comes down to is that everyone knew that wade and bron play similar games and bosh isn't a good enough big man to carry the load inside with guys like joel anthony and shyt beside him. the fit wasn't there on paper but like A LOT of people thought (yeah, i remember 99% of y'all crying about how unfair it's gonna be when they play together), their talents would overcome "chemistry" issues and the fact that they don't really have much outside of the big 3.

and to a certain extent, they have overcome those issues...they made the finals last year. but when wade's not on point like he hasn't been in the playoffs, those fit issues are just getting exacerbated and will just get worse. plus as much as heads want to downplay it, losing bosh has been a problem for them in these playoffs.

if anything, this is looking more and more like a lesson. you just can't mash together a few great players and assume it'll work.

He let Beasley go for nothing to sign Mike Miller, that is really the biggest and most inexcusable mistake he's made.

Coming off the bench for them right now instead of Miller they'd be much harder to beat and could throw out all sorts of small lineups.
wait a second, wasn't Beasley a salary cap move? To get to sign all 3? Or where they signed? Don't remember

Riley let that team down with horrible signings.

Mike Miller- 5yrs/25mil :heh:
Shane Battier - 3yr deal. He's 34..:childplease:
Joel Anthony - 6yrs/ 18mil..:deadrose:

He refuses to draft a player that can at least crack the rotation.

Except for Norris Cole, who hasn't done shyt since Christmas, there are no young players.

All he does is sign washed up vets..

The coach was not ready to coach a team like this.

This is on Riley..

The team Riley built went to the Finsls last year and have a great chance of winning a title this year though breh...
