That's what's amazing to me about this series as an outsider. I've only ever seen the first one, which was a fun popcorn flick when I was 14.

But the premise of the series started in street car drag racing in Cali. Now it's a roided out Ocean's 11 meets The Expendables...HOW SWAY?!

I thought the first film in the series was kind a wack. Never understood the hype for it, but I've been liking them more and more with each release.

They're stupid dumb fun action movies, they work because they embrace the absurdity. No different than those old Schwarzenegger flicks like Commando or True Lies.

Those old Arnold movies kinda parodied themselves though, they knew what they were. These fast and furious movies feel like they want to be taken seriously tho.

Gotta disagree, ain't nothing serious about guiding torpedoes with your hands, driving cars across sky scrapers and racing submarines my dude lol. They are full on embracing the fukkery with open arms. And that's why we go see them. They aren't even fukking pretending to be grounded anymore. Just a contest to see how much outrageous shyt you can stuff into 2 hours.

fukk realism in for all the crazy ass shyt never even saw the first three before going to the movies to see The Fast and Furious. It's been a tradition to go see them in theater since then and I always leave entertained.

Everything escalates, the first movie was somewhat realistic but after 2 fast 2 furious which generated over 200 mil that film was the beginning of being unrealistic

5 is the only good movie in the franchise. Though I'm not sure I'll ever revisit it.

These are all watch once movies for me. But 8 looks awful. They should have stopped with 7

I said this, but then I just copped Fast Five on blu-ray at Target for $9.99 because it has the digital copy as well as $8 movie cash for #8 which I can sell and recoup what I paid
