It's time to recognize that "Hangman" Adam Page is the best babyface in the biz right now.

I've been thinking this watching Dynamite every week for the past six months or so. Hangman might be one of the most likeable and over babyfaces we've had in wrestling in a long time.

First of all, he has a top 5 caliber theme song...

Just how over he really is came to light with the live crowds. He's by far been getting the loudest reactions from the fans the last few weeks.

Cowboy shyt ain't just a gimmick. It's real life too. My guy was a high school teacher & wrote an inspirational children's book about believing in yourself. It's pretty much the storyline playing out right now with his chase for the title. Hangman ain't afraid of telling it like it is either.

The payoff when he wins the title is going to be :banderas:

Chicago fans gon blow the roof off the NOW Arena, unless they pull a swerve and wait for the New York show in late September.

I wouldn't be surprised if he loses the first title match via Dusty finish to keep milking the anticipation for the win. They just need to tread lightly because he's the hottest act in the company and if they keep delaying it, it'll blow up in their face.

Breh the Anxious Millenial Cowboy storyline has been nearly flawless. Hangman's drinking leading to seeing the Elite for who they really are long before Don Callis came over to the Dark Order recruitment to finding new friends with them to working up the confidence to challenge his former partner for the title that has haunted him since All Out two years ago. You cant beat that come back story

Honestly - the way they've built him since 2018 is the most care I've seen taken with a character in wrestling in a long, long time. It's not just a 'He can't put anyone over' thing either. He's taken a few L's and it's just added to the storyline.

I say that as someone who was fully aware of him in New Japan, and was not at all interested, because all the ROH additions to Bullet Club came off like try-hard tagalongs.

The first match where I was :ohhh:about his work was the Minoru Suzuki G1 match right before The Elite left. Ever since then, the way they've depicted him has been pretty much perfect.

Did it ruin the story when everyone knew Austin was winning the title at WM 14? How about when everyone knew Daniel Bryan was winning the title at WM30, or Kofi winning at WM 35? We get it, breh. You don't like AEW. But there's no denying that Hangman has the most momentum as a babyface in wrestling right now.

It helped that they told a lot of Hangman's ups and downs and his growth on Being The Elite so they had a ton of time to flesh out his character for all to see on youtube instead of rushing it on tv with limited time.

breh literally 99% of wrestling storylines are predictable. as fans we applaud when they give us something we want or something compelling...doesnt matter if its a surprise or not. long term booking doesnt need "surprises"

This is where I assumed The Dark Order comes in - you can give the audience something with a win over The Bucks at All Out, and wait two weeks for Grand Slam and do the big title win for a TV rating. It's the Hoegan v Goldberg formula. They already did something like this by doing Blood & Guts on Dynamite rather than waiting for the PPV. The difference now is the don't have to worry about direct competition on the other channel

It helped that they told a lot of Hangman's ups and downs and his growth on Being The Elite so they had a ton of time to flesh out his character for all to see on youtube instead of rushing it on tv with limited time.

I only followed BTE during the Mr. Brodie/ Dark Order era, so I have pretty much zero context for those parts of Page's story. I got everything I understand about Page from what they've shown on TV.
