Yep, there comes a time where you must rely on your match psychology and story telling when your athletics are beginning to slip because of age. AJ in NJPW was actually a prime example of that. He had already begun converting in his last days in TNA....

Now in WWE, he has to wrestle the same formula, and it's boring, and his athletics are going down-hill, so it's extra boring.

But he's still a top performer in the E tbh. Trust he would be putting together the way more piff matches elsewhere though....

AJ might be slowing down and showing his age, yet he’s still one of the top roster talents. The problem is they ran AJ through a ton of worthy feuds when he first arrived and now he’s more or less in limbo. In some cases the E treated AJs momentum like a sprint instead of a marathon. At one point it seems like in places in which they could have used the slow burn they just threw him in the fire with whoever the felt was his next worthy opponent.
