It was a draw for regular people to get hands on with the games. Today's youngster would rather watch somebody play the game and react to shyt instead of play it themselves so now it's not needed as much :yeshrug:.

That went out the window once digital showcases started to become the norm. Nintendo stoppped attending E3 before everyone. After a while E3 just became a splash screen for most people

Stop being :flabbynsick:.

YouTube videos were cheaper and easier to control than setting up a booth and trying to outdo each other every year.

E3 was dead before streaming went mainstream.

You're trying to tell me if a new game is coming out that you're interested in, you'd rather hear about how it plays than play it yourself? Nothing flabby about it. Hands on is better than a second hand account.

If the leaks are right, this is around the time we'll get the starfield beta

Which leaks are you talking about? Why would Starfield have a beta, I thought it was a single-player only game.

I’ve fallen behind, what new info came out about this game?

Where did I say any of that?
I'm telling you what companies don't go to E3.
It's an outdated model.
But you blame younger people when the decisions were made before streaming blew up.

Because it's still very much the model for all things tech.

Yes E3 is outdated. Don't confuse tech expos with videogames.

Exactly. We’re already at the point where people are paying other people to watch them play games and have entire award shows dedicated to trailers. The draw is the the game dumps now

That's only part of it. The idea was trade partners used to be there too. Cultivate relationships. I wouldn't be surprised if senior management of partners see this stuff before us.

E3 was never about common people getting their hands on the game.

It was about showing off your game to the public and media playing it and sharing knowledge.

The biggest and best takes for me was always hearing about reading and finding out how people met at E3 and develop relationships or moved from team to team.

Ironically enough E3 started going downhill once it became open to the public.

Before that essentially we got media Hands-On experiences.

And for the die hard fans "backstage" hand on experiences from devs and others in the know.

E3 was also a huge knowledge transfer and knowledge dump.

All these on off events pale in comparison to the rumors experiences and products shown at E3.
