I'm partial to Acura because my pops has worked for them for damn near 20 years. But my gawd, it's increasingly difficult to root for these dumb fukks. Peep their lineup:

ILX (MSRP: $27K)

:dempsee: Straight up embarrassing. This shyt looks like a Hyundai. :scusthov:

TLX (MSRP: $30K)

Better but still a distant last place compared to their competitors.

RLX (MSRP: $48K)

Has anyone ever seen this trash on the streets? EVER?!? :heh:

RDX (MSRP: $35K)

:avb-1:

MDX (MSRP: $43K)

:ehh: The only decent vehicle in their lineup.

This is embarrassing for a once proud and storied brand. :to: They have no flagship vehicle. The TL could've been that until they completed flopped with the 4th gen models (2009-2014). They have no coupes, horrendous styling, lack power, no clear vision or demographic they appear to be targeting. Why would anyone buy the garbage Acura is putting out?

Is Acura dead?

low maintenance and quality>looks ..... in my opinion....... dude complimented me on my 11 yr honda pilot just today. always liked the acura brand but never invested in a model.

I used to like the RL...

But you're right, other than the NSX, there's not a vehicle in the Acura fleet that I "desire" if I'm looking for a new car.

Much rather just have a Honda and call it a day.

it's been weird lately with all the technology and advances with automobiles.

because you can get a well equipped Accord with every option you'd find in the Acura version (TL, TLX, RL, RLX) so what exactly am I paying for?

sure they give you the option in the Acura version in the TLX and RLX for "SH-AWD" but other than that, you're basically paying for a different look, and then that still doesn't warrant enough to spend the extra money.

they truly need a re-vamp of the whole lineup. bring back a drivers coupe. they don't have the RSX-S or the S2000 anymore. all the consumers really have left is the SI Civic, not to say that it's a bad car, but people like variety.

There is a huge rift right now between AHM(American Honda) which runs Acura and HMC(honda motor co.) back in Japan. HMC actually got rid of the director of Acura earlier his year & replaced him. I can't lie they have really fallen off... I do see a lot of new Acuras on the road but they are ALL suvs :smh: the RDX and MDX are really nice for what they are but they have completely abandoned the enthusiasts, Why the hell would anyone buy a 30k ILX when you can get the same car, engine, gearbox in the Civic Si?

Honestly it's too late to get rid of the brand altogether since they have penetrated so many markets now, they just need to revert back to what they did in the 90's & stop catering to the cool Mom's.

May the spirit of Soichiro Honda help acura return to the temple of VTEC.
