Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
Are the chinese in america only doing business with christians?
Are indians only doing business with hindus?

People do business with others who have power wealth and influence.

So you're saying that Black Americans are only doing business with ppl that share their religious beliefs?

I've never in my life been asked by a small business owner what my religion is when I go solicit business.

No it is that simple. You think Chinese business men ask if Indian business men are in the nation of islam? Or the nation of hindu or something lol. Nobody gives a damn about culture when it comes to return on investments.

But its never been that simple. People tend to stick to their own

You got Africans and caribbeans moving to places like Atlanta, setting up shop in AA neighborhoods, but doing nothing with or for AA's :beli:

I see this shyt where im from aswell, Harlem for example.

"Black Culture" here in America creates that chasm... at least for me. Too many Black Americans are stuck on that slave minded bullsh!t. I can't relate to being a perpetual b!tch in society. I was raised to be a man.

This nikka right here :mjlol:

I am an African from Nigeria.

Yes

And I am American.

Yes

And I am black.

Yes

And I am African-American.

Nope.

Lol how can you suddenly transform into another ethnic group?

The author is confused. You can identify and empathize with the struggle of someone without becoming them. He is not AA.

Nothing is stopping him from being African and being for social/racial justice.

Lol why is AA treated like an open door where people come and go as they please?

They play double dutch.

"Other" blacks jumping in and out of AA culture under the guise of "black culture"

AA
culture, being the most inclusive culture in the diaspora, never calls them out for it.

But let AA's take part in something from their culture(s) Than its :dahell::rudy::beli::martin:

African American isn't a term black people control unfortunately. It's a label that for the most part cacs decide who gets that label and gets interchanged with "black."

I personnaly never really understood the term "African-American". AAs are Americans who happen to be Black, the vast majority has prob never been to Africa, doesn't know from which African country he/she comes from, doesn't know an African language, doesn't know any African culture, etc.

So breh has a point : coming from Africa, and now being in America, HE should def be called African-American, more so than a Black American born and raised in America that really has no ties with Africa.

This comes from the confusion I see all the time here on the Coli that basically think that African and Black are synonyms. Africa is extremely diverse and some Africans are not Black. And all Blacks are not Africans.

And if Black Americans are called "African-Americans", why aren't White Americans called "European-Americans"?
