It's the end of the first month of the year. What's been a unnecessary drain on your bank account?

Chapter 13. I wanted to keep my house.
You could of kept the house and the car with chapter 7 my cousin just went through with it and got discharged but ended up keeping the house and both of his cars

That brings me to another issue. I don't know if it was your own personal choice but my parents filed many many years ago too and the lawyer told them chapter 13 was the better option for them.

How the Bankruptcy System Is Failing Black Americans

Lawyers have a habit of telling black people that chapter 13 is the better choice while turning around and telling cacs that chapter 7 is the better choice to free them of all their debt

The house must have been upside down or not a lot of equity. I have close to $40k in equity and by law I could keep like $10k of that, but then I would have had to sell the house and use the $30k to pay creditors. Chapter 13 is nothing but a forced payment plan of at least 3 years. Some people don't have the discipline or hell even the job stability to stick with it that long. It can also be strange letting someone else control your money. I'll check the link out after I post this reply.

Sorry for the second quote, but I just finished reading the article. They are definitely finessing folks by not thoroughly explaining their options. The fact that the chick didn't know the difference between Chapter 7 and 13 was pretty sad. If they don't have stable and gainful employment, Chapter 13 is NOT the move at all. My lawyer was great at explaining all my options; the process, what to expect, etc. I landed a 3 year contract, so that's another reason why I went for Chapter 13. By the time the contract is over, the bankruptcy will be as well. Even if the contract isn't renewed, I will have made my payments and the debt can be discharged.

clothes for a vacation in May.

Good deals on "warm weather" clothes now though
i wouldn't call that a waste though. You not like some of these chicks i know that go to the hair and clothes store every single day and use the excuse that they just want to see whats on sale and end up buying shyt every day

Ordering fast food. I probably spend close to $100 a week ordering food. I'm about to start bringing lunch
