It's surprising how weak and controlled americans are ,,

Whatever happened to the spirit of fighting the power?

Power to the people?

Individuality?

People seem to be overwhelmingly concerned with keeping in line so as to not be sanctioned economically by society.

A bunch of people at all levels abusing power, while their subordinates at each level line up to ingratiate themselves to them (aka kiss butt).

I thought for a time that the USA was pretty similar to the UK but on reflection is it more like Romania. Just with stronger institutions, control and punishment.

There is a strong sense of compliance and conformity running through American society. Especially if you want to succeed economically.

Everyone is religious. Wigs abound in corporate America. Grey hair..? Don't agree .. well hold your tongue. etc etc etc.

Where are the mavericks? And why does US society want everyone, who wants to live a good working life, to a boot licker?

it’s both the freest and most controlled society on earth. in fact, the freedom you’re afforded is used by the elites to shape your thoughts and control your behavior.

noam chomsky said the american system is the most sophisticated form of mind control on the planet.

they set the parameters and make the margins wide enough to grant the illusion of autonomy, so that you think you’re in control, when you’re really operating according to a program they wrote.

your dissent never actually challenges the socioeconomic foundation on which this empire stands.

not food. plastic gene enhanced junk in america is causing excessive premature cancers. food quality so low it is banned in much of europe.

american food is tasteless. if you think that is the best food on earth :picard:

music across the board is tied with the UK.

capitalism is also a form of control. it binds you to a a near unbreakable routine of laboring for basic needs, forcing you to rent your yourself out to live.

:francis:

it shouldn't be (as per book definition) but it is in practice.

and america practices one of the harshest forms of it (compared to OECD)

it’s both the freest

"The index rates countries on a scale from 10 (freest) to 0 (least free). In 2012, the freest countries/regions were New Zealand (8.88), Switzerland (8.82), and Hong Kong SAR, (8.81). Least free were Syria (3.79), Venezuela (3.80), and Yemen (4.30).[3] The components on which the index is based can be divided into economic freedoms and other personal freedoms. Highest ranking in economic freedoms were Hong Kong (8.91) and Singapore (8.71). Highest ranking in personal freedoms were Sweden (9.45) and the Netherlands (9.28).[3]"

yes, but that’s the point. in terms of freedom of movement and expression, america is unmatched, but that freedom is really a ruse that the elites use to lure its citizens into a cycle of servitude and compliance.

you’re free to say anything you want without the boot of repression stomping on your face, but see how far your mobility takes you if you don’t say the correct things. from academia to the workforce, your freedom of expression has undefinable limits.
