And OP is pretty much right regardless of wether he is a terrible poster or not. You have more of a chance contracting an STD from the average girl or girl who casually sleeps around w/ men she likes or is having short term relationships "hoping they're the one" or any person on in a relationship than you do with a sex worker.
Tons of people who contract aids claim they got it from someone they were in a serious relationship with that they trusted & didn't use protection with.
That's why it's so important to get tested and use protection, not just to avoid pregnancy.
My ex and I were together for like 2 years and we only had sex prob like 3 times without a condom.
I have a friend who was in a committed relationship and never used condoms with her boyfriend and got an STD from him, either he must've cheated on her or he didn't get tested before dating her and unknowingly gave her one.
Sexual health isn't really about all the social myths and rumors of promiscuity = more likely to catch an STD but about protecting yourself.
