These young guys can barely stay on the floor, plus some of them may need to switch teams at some point. It’ll be funny to see which of the new crop end up in places like LA, New York, or like Chicago or Miami. OKC are balling and they were balling tf out last game, but you can’t expect the east to want to stay up to watch them play. I think they’ll get a couple year to run before the stars start migrating to other teams.

Sidenote: AE is my guy right now

:comeon: OKC is in the same time zone as Chicago and Dallas.

:comeon: People didn't watch OKC when they had Harden/Durant/Westbrook 10 years ago?

If Melo can stay healthy, he might make noise.

The problem is, the NBA hasn’t really tried to promote the new players outside of Wemby, and the Spurs sucked so much that it was a chore to do so.

And some players aren’t really marketable. SGA is top 5 or close to it, but isn’t being promoted.

Bruh I’ve seen that SGA commercial like 50 times the past few days

Why they ain’t there no more?

And sports media and some fans are obsessed with media markets, it is what it is. I’m sure that OKC team will be around for a few years before players start moving… they definitely aren’t all staying there

Same reason why Durant/Irving/Harden aren't in Brooklyn anymore.

20 years ago most of the old guard wouldn’t even be relevant at their ages right now :yeshrug:

Kobe was the first modern player to really take it there being really good 14-15 years into his career , especially as a guard but the Achilles fukked him over. Bron took it to another level and KD and Curry are going to try and do the same but biology is biology
Ray Allen and Steve Nash as well. I distinctly remember in 2011 there being convos about how modern medical treatments were extending people's careers in ways we weren't accustomed to. 20 years ago KD would've been out of the league 4 years out from a year-12 Achilles tear. Not averaging 27 on 52% shooting in 38 minutes for 75 games.

Don't worry they will still draw ratings for couple years, because new generation doesn't have enough stars to make the audience forget about the veterans.
