Lots of guns don't necessarily mean lots of shootings, as you can see in Israel and Switzerland.
I think what we need to do to combat mass shootings is get rid of gun free zones... or as I call them helpless victim zones. 99% of mass shootings occur in these zones, and these rampages are ended when guess what? another gun shows up.
I get how unattractive the idea of armed faculty at schools is, but if some one could quickly put down a shooter after he opens fire at a school(a gun free zone), we could save countless young lives.
Seems worth it to me.
Moreover, gun violence in general is on the decline, while drunk driving is increasing, if we are truly interested in saving lives(), lets look at what can be done about the latter...
