Jimmy really played one of his best games ever last night. He shut Giannis down in the 4th too.

I think y'all were too hard for him on that Detroit game

1) He was the only reason the game was close

2) Hes probably just doing what the coaching is dictating him to do. It was pretty clear Hoiberg was calling for the Jimmy/Pau two man game. Pau needed to be more aggressive IMO.

3) I like that he's trying to put the team on his back. If he works out his jumper this offseason, he could be a force next year

This is what he should have worked on this past offseason, so Rose and him would complement each other much better but he had his sights on trying to be the team's point guard and leader. I like Jimmy, but he has things to work on in his game. Rose needs to work on conditioning his body and restructuring his jump shot, so that he does not have to rely on that bank shot move as much as he does. Those fools in the front office need to be removed, but that will not happen because Fred needs to be given more time. At least we know now that Jerry is putting pressure on GarPax based on Fred's progression. These two will now have to be active this offseason and will not be able to stand pat this offseason or Fred will fail again and their jobs will be on the line. I already prepared myself that this team would have a significant drop in effort when they moved on from Thibs. They all need an early vacation to reflect on this disaster of a season and find their way back to competing and playing with heart like they use too.

Unless you are within the top 3 players in the league, everyone needs some twitches to their game.

Jimmy and rose working together is every bit the offensive system implemented as it is the players willingness to play off each other. This team has about 3 plays they go to and play through pau, hitting a few guys as they trail behind or on the wing with nothing implemented for rose and jimmy specifically outside of give the ball up to each other coming up the court and get out the way. Movement without the ball is horrible on this team. Getting players free is horrible on this team.

Everyone who wants to trade 1 of rose or jimmy have no idea what they are asking for but will find out quick when defenses are able to concentrate and focus on 1 player.

So until I can get a good definition of what the hell has hoiberg inserted into this offense it's hard to say how rose and jimmy could play together. I do know all this they don't work together talk wasn't there like that last season when thibs was coaching.

I have held back any criticism of jimmy based on my belief that coaching is playing a huge part in what we are seeing game by game. On defense what I am seeing is diet thibs schemes with the lack of quality defenders than we used to have, and on offense I see a mess. Add fred and his Mr Rogers neighborhood style of motivation and it's not impossible to see that at many times players are probably just doing what the hell they want to do out there for parts of every game. That is the quickest way to get players going iso because players are not moving well without the ball and players don't have specific spots to be at in the offense. Fred needs to do a much better job next season.

Last year there were games where we saw miscommunication between them on possessions even with Thibs coaching them. I'm not making excuses for Fred because he has had some very questionable play calling in alot of these games. Fred is a rookie coach though and we have to be realistic about the circumstances here. Realistically, Fred should have never been Thibs replacement with this veteran core. I would have went with a head coach like Lionel Hollins who had similar success like Thibs coaching Memphis to Western Conference Finals against Spurs a few years ago. They needed a voice that had experience with vets and has had success coaching in this league before, but GarPax went into completely different direction going to a unproven guy.

The things I want Jimmy working on this summer is his catch and shoot ability. I also think he has taken a step back defensively, but that is not his fault. There were moves on the table last season to bring in another wing to help Butler out with those defensive duties, but those two fools stood pat.

Lionel Hollins? The consensus was that they needed a coach that could unlock the offensive potential within the roster. Hollins was never that guy.

Get him an assistant. The offense was only a problem because we had too many one dimensional players with defense being their strong suit. If they would have worked on the personnel for Thibs, then things like working on offensive potential would have never be talked about and this team would be competing for titles. They did not want to give him those things because he was at odds with GarPax. Maybe they give that to Lionel Hollins who demands effort kind of like Thibs because he has no beef with them.
