Here are my hot takes:

Pau isnt going to fit well into this offense
Noah looked like he had some spring, hope hes OK
Niko was our best player tonight
Jimmy played well on D, but his effectiveness as a scorer... all preseason, I dont know what to make of it
Rose played well, seemed like he was settling in tonight with the new offense. I didnt think he shot as much as he did, so thats a good sign
Snell played well around actually, good shyt
Doug gave a nice burst off the bench, I thought he would play more tho?

VERY impressed with Hoiberg

I liked the quick substitutions to keep guys fresh
the defense was solid
glimpses of a good offense
he gave Kirk a DNP and let Moore play
he pulled Pau in the 4th when he was getting murdered on pick and rolls
he attacked Love with pick and rolls non stop in the 4th, shows he can identify weaknesses and exploit
I LOVED that Jimmy/Rose high pick action we saw in the 4th. That should be dynamic this season

Overall happy with the win, PLEASE no drop off tomorrow night

I was worried about a letdown tomorrow, but I dont think that Brooklyn team will be ready. We just beat the East 'favorites' in a tight game. We snapped that preseason lull tonight and should make easy work tomorrow

Hoiberg is a flexible coach that will add wrinkles to his offense to accommodate the personnel. In one of the pre-season games I remember seeing Fred seemingly throw out the playbook in favor of force feeding Pau down low. He got Pau about 5 straight touches in a row in the post during that game. I think he'll be fine on offense. It may take some time. Pau's D on the other hand tho.... I can see him potentially sulking as the season goes on as he inevitably starts to get benched for his lack of defense.

Niko just might mess around and lead this team in FTA per game, and that's saying something when you have Rose and Jimmy on the team. The most underrated aspect to his game is how easy and how much he gets to the freethrow line.

Regardless I still like niko and pau starting next to rose and jimmy with snell being the new utility guy. Gave jimmy and rose driving lanes all night , rose just went away from them when it was clear he wouldn't get calls and jimmy couldn't get around lebron.

I liked hoiberg rotations only thing I didn't like was bobby not getting any minutes but I'm sure 1 big will go down and Bobby can get in then.

I've always been unimpressed by his overall scoring repertoire, as I've said in the offseason. His handles don't look all that improved to me, and he'll need to be able to blow past guys off the dribble before he can really expand his game because that sets up so much

His jumper was nice last season though. He could hit it from the post too

Hes bricking all those shots right now. Hes a 20 pt scorer easy if his J is falling
