Knew he was special at Michigan as a kid watching him throw bombs to David Terrell I was surprised he went so late in the NFL draft but once his name started to ring bells in the league I wasn’t surprised..lot of people got on to Brady greatness after that first super bowl but real football watchers always knew just was a matter of time

:mjlol:

Nobody knew who Tom Brady was at the point otherwise my 49ers would have drafted him instead of Giovanni fukking.Carmazzi.
Not true. How was a guy at a major school, eho finished top 5 on a team on NFL players, an unknown?? Michigan was always on TV. Brady was a nobody to casual football fans. Brent Musburger was constantly singing his praises on air as was Street and Smith. I remember rsndom college QBs like Doug Johnson, Kurt Kittner, Jessr Palmer, Jonathon Smith, Jarious Jackson, Jason Gesser, Shawn Thompson, David Greene etc. Pre combined Brady was projected as a 2nd to 3rd rd pick(I have the original book). Brady had no hype machine because the regime who recruited him were no longer there and then he was redshirted. And the Carr regime was psrtial to Henson because of his phenomenal talent and being a local kid. The fact that Brady didnt get lost in the shuffle and waa never usurped is a testament to his talent and toughness.

Whats so funny? I felt the exact same way. Your best team in years couldnt stop Brady. Only his dumb ass coach taking him out for too long, could. I love how yall dismiss Bradys college career solely because of where he was drafted. Brent Musburger called him the most underrated QB in the country and said he would be a gem for someone on Sundays. Street and Smith spotlighted him and said he had enough natural talent and leadership to contribute immediately. A real competitor too. Seemed pretty accurate, no?? Remember that superhyped Penn State squad with Lavar Arrington and Courtney Brown? Brady beat them.twice. Remember those great Wisconsin teams with Ron Dayne who went to back to back Rose Bowls, Brady beat them twice. Remember Drew Brees? The guy who lit up college football? Well in their one meeting, Brady outplayed and beat him. The Alabama team with Shaun Alexander and Freddie Milons and Cornelius Griffin who were a preseason favorite to win the next years national title, Brady beat them with his best performance of his career. 2 of his 5 career losses were due to Lloyd Carr mismanaging the QB situation. A highly respected publication and one of the most famous broadcasters of all time, believed in Brady.
