Its kind of wild how little developers are showing their games these days

God of War Ragnarok went the entire year last year with no gameplay until September, the game released in November. Fire Emblem didn’t get any previews until a month Before release. The 3 big premiere VR games didn’t get any early previews

Tears of The Kingdom is out in two months and we haven’t gotten more than 4 minutes of combined gameplay from Nintendo. Suicide Squad waited until a couple of weeks ago to preview their game thats also out in two months.

Horizon DLC is out next month, no new information. Spider-Man no new information. Stellar Blade? Factions?

Starfield won’t be getting an information/gameplay blow out until 3 months before release.

Is this a good thing or do you miss seeing game previews throughout the year before release? :jbhmm:

All the controversy surrounding pretty much any game release these days i’m surprised devs even still even engage with the community as much as the do.

Only game to release without controversy recently was HiFi rush, and that’s cause it was revealed and released on the same day.

people shyt on pre-alpha GTA6 footage of all things lol

any game with name recognition or dev/1st party reputation behind it isn't gonna want to expose themselves to controversy or negative perception for no reason anymore. the loudest of the gaming community is legit too dumb, volatile, and reactive

I don't mind seeing gameplay or feature walkthrough of games provided it doesn't spoil the story. I enjoyed seeing the pre release Fable II footage back in the day, seeing the mechanics they were trying to get into the game. Stuff doesn't always make it, but I don't really care. Developers should be allowed to show off their hard work, be excited for it, and get others excited about it too.

Consumers need to do a better job of controlling their own hype. MFs start circle jerking about how some game is going to be the best thing since <insert your revolutionary game here>, based off of dreams and hype from other lames. Then the shyt releases and they feel betrayed because THEY THOUGHT, then they wanna bytch and moan.

TYRONE GA!
If i’m interested in a game i usually avoided extended footage anyway.

Been gaming long enough, don’t really need a “deep dive” for me to know if a game interest me or not.

this.

haven't bought or rented a game I didn't like since Magic Johnson's Fast Break on SNES

me and my homies rented that shyt from Blockbuster all hyped and cysed after looking at the cover.

Turned that shyt on and when the porno theme sounding music came on, we immediately knew that shyt was gonna be buns. :francis:
