It's not reported that Kendrick Lamar is selling x number of albums in Australia. It's not reported that Mario Winans had some hits in the U.K., nobody would care.

Finally, the only thing that truly matters is profit. If you want to be real about it, the final profit numbers are what matters most and Black Panther did not cost that much to make versus the $1.3 billion that it's grossed at the box office. the profits are going to be insane.

That's apples and oranges though.

The sole reason people focus on the U.S. when discussing albums is because RIAA certification only counts for the U.S. Even Soundscan is only the U.S./Canada. Those are yard stick for success for better or worse in The Booth.

There's no reason, reading your posts, to assume you specifically meant domestic, which is why I quoted you in the first place. You said "'BP' would make more money, I'll up the thread" and then upped the thread when "IW" did $1 billion in 12 days.

Regardless, "IW" has been out 12 days and it's only behind "BP" by roughly $240 million. So it's far too early to assume where it's domestic total will land.

No, no no no. If you go on Deadline, watch Access Hollywood, something on Collider, box office mojo, Variety, The Wrap, etc.. all of the headlines are about U.S. box office. Worldwide totals aren't discussed unless the movie gets up over a billion and starts challenging records. Worldwide totals are a footnote to every media outlet.

These people who challenged me in here are wrong but if they want to believe they are right by all means.

Furthermore, even if you didn't think I was discussing the U.S. it's pretty obvious the reasons I laid out. I discussed repeat viewings and the community and demographic reasons for why BP would end up higher.

Why would any of these other countries give a shyt about Black Panther more than us? Of course they care about Infinity War more; they aren't black.

High Key Black Panther has it's own fanbase independent of the MCU. I saw mostly black people at my Infinity War showing. Didn't see that at any of the other avengers movies. Most of them got up and left before the after credits scene so i know they don't fukk with the MCU heavy like that.
The studio needs to take advantage and make him more central in future team up. He can do what Ironman did for the MCU at the beginning for a whole new audience.

Thats a cop out. Iron Man had an entire trilogy out before Civil War but his character still had actual development in that movie. As far as I could tell, theres only a couple two characters in IW that have any sort of meaningful character arc, Thanos, Gamorra, Dr. Strange and Thor.
