I'm more inclined to believe there is not such thing as random. Random might be a word to describe limitation of knowledge. But I don't think there is anything such as fate either.

Agreed. There is always a cause for things to happen in the universe. But I don't think people realize because we make our small world so large. Fate on the other hand, in terms of evolution, no. We at best were suppose to be food for the larger dinosaurs that ruled. But it was cause and effect that sent that asteroid towards our planet and killed off everything leaving way for us mammals to rise. Now is that a good thing in the long run? Only time will tell.

This last episode was just so beautiful. I hardly use a term like that for TV but it was, especially the end.

I just wonder how many Faradays are out there in poverty who will never be given a chance due to the systems we have in place.

I think about that a lot too. The fact is Faraday had a great deal of luck on his side to be in the position to do things he did. What I appreciated the most about him was even though he lacked the mathematical wherewithal to describe his experiments, he could demonstrate them practically. The majority of us do not see the world in math but have a great appreciation of what it produces. Similar to how most of us can't read music notes but can enjoy music.

The Cosmos
Cliff notes?

what does he talk about in the show? What subjects specifically?
Science. He touches on everything...a lot has been covered...Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry.

He goes into the history of scientific breakthroughs and the individuals who made key discoveries.

Just about every episode shyts on religion.

Yea he came out swinging tonight. Not too many shows in one hour will go from Gilgamesh and the Noah story being lifted from Utnapishtim, to microbes originally evolving in space, to planetary seeding, life spans of civilizations and ending with climate change.. Just :wow:

And he shytted on Columbus too :wow:

Hold my phone cuz, just need a second to process all that piff. :whew:
