what I wanna know is why some of you don't wanna see him win:ohhh:

I don't think it's that, it's just that this is not really a role he'll be remembered for. That's besides my general belief that awards are crap and it's ridiculous that people feel that he needs some meaningless statue to validate his greatness as an actor.

okay well ya this probably isn't but does that deny the fact of the actual performance?

In my opinion the three best performances of the year were Leo in Revanent, Matt Damon in the Martian, and Will Smith in Concussion. @MartyMcFly has been making a case for Fassbender in Steve Jobs but I think those three narrowly beat him out. Of those three I am of course going to ride for black excellence first and foremost and champion Will, but he hasn't gotten the push or the buzz that's needed to carry him past Damon, let alone Leo. And between Leo and Damon I feel that Leo CLEARLY was the stronger performance (and this is no shade to Damon, who carried that film on his shoulders for damn near an hour and kept me engrossed) but Leo truly put his heart and soul into his Hugh Glass character.

This is his year, and I honestly don't think there is any doubt about it.

:salute: But I still will ride for Michael and what he did with Steve jobs. I truthfully wouldn't be mad if he or Damon got it or Leo or will. Leo has the showier role though and I say of the four, Michael has the most understated one. He has to change little by little with each act aside from his physical appearance and hint at some deep flaws and foibles and I just love it. It's damn near completely internal save for a few moments of external anger. That's why he'd get my vote but if it's Leo's year, it's his year. And unlike when he was going against Matty ice, there's no performance that you could say is possibly above his of the guys who will likely be nominated. Matt Damon was awesome too and like fassbender, carried the movie on his freaking back. Completely on his back.

It's a good performance, nothing against that, but I'll say when it comes to lead actors this year there have unfortunately "only" been good performances, very few great ones.

I still think he should have won for Wolf of Wall Street. That was tour de force performance and he literally gave his all for that movie. I read that he was exhausted physically and mentally for a year after filming wrapped
Only a millionaire celebrity would have the gaul to say they were exhausted physically and mentally for a year after filming a movie :heh:

I ain't changing shyt you aren't going to get an Oscar blowing spit between your teeth in anger ok

please tell me what lines Leo said in this movie that deserve an Oscar

he didn't deliver lines he just delivered some emotions most of which were anger in an intense manner that requires 0 skill.

sleeping in a dead horses carcass for a movie role is more like fear factor then acting chops.

I'm sorry and ill snap your shyt up

The physical challenges that he had to work through alone are enough for him to take home that oscar imo. Helps that the candidates this year arent as great as years past. Leo taking it this year
