Lol! It's okay for men to be reticent about marriage. But when women start thinking critically about relationships and enjoying singledom outside of societal constraints...

It's going to be some very interesting decades ahead.

My dad said there were plenty of chicks growing up in his generation who didn't want to be married but were forced to b/c that's all they could do to merely survive.

I think people need to have space to be themselves. Marriage isn't for everyone. A lot of women and men are finding themselves outside of the institution. It can be a scary yet beautiful thing as well.

If people were smart they would take this time to analyze the institution and create harmonious relationships not out of dogmatic adherence to past traditions but out of genuine authentic mutual love and respect within the context of how men and women can relate to each other today as human beings.

Instead people will doggedly stay the course instead of evolving.

Y’all say this, but people have different priorities. At some point you accept your circumstances and are content. Someone trying to be a rapper gets to the age of 45 and can be perfectly accepting of the fact they never made it, better than lamenting it the rest of their life.

I personally am at the point where having a kid >> life partner. If my relationship now doesn’t work out, I’m fine with the life I built, imma go have a kid and call it a day. But I have friends who couldn’t care less about either, also have those trying in vain to still have both. Everyone is different.

Correlating rich woman with the likes of regular woman doesn't work. A man would have to be able to really bring something to these woman that's enough for them to want to settle down in those roles. Why would they look for security, when they have it themselves? Rich woman will also always struggle because their wants out of a man far out-way those man options.
