It's crazy to think GamerGate has lead to Trump, MAGA, & the Redpill community

I don't know...It might have coincided with it but it definitely felt like somewhere in the late 2000s/early 2010s...racist online geeks and og repub racists got together. Even the old xbox live racist didn't rock with the Bush/Romney type of repubs but somehow they've all come together to form like Nazi Voltron in the last 10 years. Tea party & even Q-anon types feel like they were older than these gamergate types.

Gamergate wasn't the beginning of anything. Redpill latched on to Gamergate as a beachhead issue and leeched everything they could out of it, like any other subversive movement trying to make a name for itself. Redpill itself is fabricated garbage. It's just a feeder program like many others.

I think its the other way around

It's actually Steve Bannon who is primarily responsible for gamers being radicalized into right wing ideology. He saw that there was a contingent of lost and angry White male gamers and took advantage of them, weaponized and focused their anger. This is what lead to Trump, and set the template for the massive right wing grifting you see on YT and Twitch.
