remember when he went to jail stringer couldnt find a good connect so he had to get prop joes stash and give up some corners
They got alot of them, call themselves tryna school me, a business major, about how they would do business Talkin bout "If I hit the lottery, Im puttin a movie theatre in the hood"Str8nger was the epitome of a smart dumb nigguh. Pook tried to put him on about that weak economics shyt when they had that meeting and stringer went off. Stringer was more stubborn than Avon, imo.
I remember in one of them "Wire" threads people were trying to say Avon and Marlo were equally respected/powerful....shyt was
Fred.
Best way it can be explained.Avon was respected.. Marlo was feared...two totally opposite things
Right. Avon's reach was beyond the viewer's scope. Obviously it focused on the people around him but it was always evident and hinted that Avon's name far exceeded that of what the viewer was seeing. Marlo, was numerously said to be just a street thug who came and strong-armed the game when Avon was gone and Stringer was focusing on legitimizing instead of enforcement. Writers made a point in the later seasons to try and establish how connected Avon was by all the pull he had with the the system, his connects and the Greek.Avon was respected.. Marlo was feared...two totally opposite things
Breh u got a clip to this scene?? Been a minute since I seen itDude was even the man in jail....the man. It's like the writers wanted to remind people on the hierarchy of the show when Marlo showed up to talk to Boris and Avon popped out like
Fred.
Rewatching it now and after reading some different opinions, Stringer kind of looks like a clown now. Like he did all that fake smart shyt just to stunt on the little nikkas and the workers. He was mad disrespectful to people too. He gets credit for the money laundering tho, can't front on that
Also I'm noticing more clearly how strong Avons name was. His rep was bulletproof on that show. Had connects on demand for dope, muscle, get out of prison schemes anything he needed.
