Batman Beyond would be a clean slate too, just get a good terry make gotham futuristic and probably can have an old supes cameo

but I think DC scared to put someone not named Bruce Wayne under the Cowl in a big time way permanently or for a long time (ie movie trilogy)

They could have done it with the Ben Affleck trilogy. Do the battle for the cowl storyline and have Damon Wayne take over by the third movie. Then they could have had the older Bruce that they wanted while having a young batman for the justice league at the same time.
