I still say the best stretch of consistently good 3 hours RAWs was from July 2012 to about April 2013 where you had Punk's transition from Face to Tweener to Heel, Team Hell No, Rise of Ryback, Shield debut, The Rock as WWE Champion, Taker/Punk feud etc...
Then the rest of 2013 featured Bryan being WWE Champion and feuding with the Authority, Henry's fake retirement, Wyatt family debut, AJ/Kaitlyn being the first interesting Women's feud in forever, Punk's return and feud with Lesnar etc..
Like always there was a lot of bullshyt back then but it sounds way more interesting than the 2017 RAWs do![]()
The Shield being so well booked for more than a year made RAW pretty fun to watch during that stretch. They pretty much had 30-45 minutes quality TV locked almost every week with a 6 man match (sometimes a tag title match) and segment or promo that was interesting and kept them looking like a big deal.
Once they had that solid foundation everything else kinda fell into place. Bryan's rise went hand in hand with his battles with The Shield and his breakout year from Team Hell No - while maintaining their fun fukkery that made them so popular - and a lot of other people felt fresher when fighting them. The Cody/Goldust feud with them and The Authority was gold for almost 2 months. And then you had the dope Wyatt Family mini rivalry with outstanding matches.
So when you have a portion of the show that will give you good, lengthy matches consistently and good promos or segments, then it's much easier to watch those 3 hours because 90% of the time there's always at least ONE thing worth a damn on RAW that would go along with whatever The Shield were doing.
