It's been 10 years since Heath Ledger passed away.

Wow. Time flies. Greatest on screen portrayal of a comic book villain. I've always wondered how his career would have gone post-Dark Knight, I remember reading that the week that he died, he was supposed to have meetings with Steven Spielberg and George Miller about possibly starring in movies. A big talent taken away from us too soon.

Dying helped the movie overall but Heath earned all his praise. Tom's bane was cool but Heath's joker was an event.

It wasn't just him dying, it was the fact he pretty much died from getting too deep into character. You can only appreciate the dedication to the craft

He certainly was great as the joker, and was a great talent overall.

That was the story for years about it. His sister said that it wasn't the case but it was the urban legend

No. No he wasn't. Hardy was good, don't get me wrong. But Ledger was legitimately terrifying. So much so that he's pretty much ruined my perception of almost every "scary" comic book movie villain since.
