Someday, We'll All Be Free
You could argue that those 3 are most talented individuals in modern music history including Stevie Wonder. Mj & Prince both born in 1958 and Whitney in 1963. All hit their musical primes in the 80s. Each one dominated the charts, albums sales, singles, live shows, tours. Icons. Each one had no equal. It's difficult to even distinguish who was the most talented between the 3. Whitney had the vocals, charisma. Mj the dance moves, larger than life persona. Prince, the musical genius, androgynous, enigmatic.
What a time to be alive. I wish I could've experienced being bombarded with Thriller in 1982, Purple Rain in 1984 and then Whitneys debut album in 1985. These 3 are the holy trinity. Think about if you removed them from history. How many other artist who idolized them would we miss out on because the influence was never unlocked or realized?
Its unfathomable that the world had these 3 at the same time. Who do we have today that could even remotely compare? Even the 90s had its music giants: Mariah, Boyz II Men, R. Kelly. They pale in comparison to the trinity but you can't deny the power and influence they had. The 2000s gave us Usher & Beyonce... Today we have.. Well nobody on that scale if we're talking talent and influence.
Sure we have some people here and there who can hold a note but we don't have that world shattering talent today like we did in years of the past. I've been waiting for somebody to breakthrough who could be on that level but we just don't have him/her yet.
