The early to mid 90's will always be the goat,
Gracias.

Tooniami was alright for early 2000's standards,
But Fox, ABC, CBS run was the greatest ever in the 90's.

From what I heard stay at home moms and the Catholic Church banned against these local tv stations saying that they were tired of all this shows dedicate to kids on TV, this is why you pay for what you watch now... ie cable and satellite.

How many of us real 90's kids watched DBZ back in 1998 on WB Sunday mornings when it first aired in America?

Don't forget about PBS with Zoom and Ghostwriter and USA with Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter.

Toonami was literally family bonding time for my family. Everyone would stop what they were doing, come home and watch Dragonball Z. I still remember how hype we were during the Cell saga.

Saturday mornings were good too. Pokemon, Cardcaptor Sakura, X-Men: Evolution, Pepper Ann, and Recess were my go-to's.

I remember watching Dragon Ball in the mid 90's when I was over my cousin's in Chicago. It's almost like they did a marathon or something, cause I remember watching a bunch of episodes in 2 days. Then I started watching it when I got home, and next thing I know, that shyt was off. I didn't see it again for years, and when I did, the little funny kid with a tail was grown and somehow had a son. I was like :mindblown:.

It was always like that with cartoons then though. You'd be a big fan of something that wasn't crazy popular, then just like that they'd change the lineup on you one day. Watching shyt like Defenders of the Earth and Bionic 6 every morning before school, all to turn it on that next morning and see Heathcliff on instead. Nickelodeon was the one channel that had a pretty stable lineup, mostly cause they had their own shows. The Disney channel had some of the GOAT shows, but they were a premium channel, and my parents were not paying extra just for me to watch some cartoons and Mickey Mouse club. Fox was great with that action hour too with X-Men and Batman TAS, then Spiderman.

And to the TS, nothing was better than me seeing "General Hospital" was coming on next. Then I knew it was officially cartoon time for the next 2 hours. Either that or hearing the closing theme to "Leave it to Beaver". Knew shyt was bout to go down in the next 2 minutes. :wow:

I remember coming in from school and watching the most piff cartoons, now kids come in from school and see a shytload of judge mathis reruns. I fukks with judge mathis but kids ain't trying to hear all that legal shyt after school.

For real man. That shyt makes me sad for kids that only have regular TV now.

I grew up with out cable TV and relied on these afternoon cartoons. I was a latch key kid too, I probably would have lost my damn mind if it wasn't for afternoon and saturday morning cartoons.

Pretty sure something like 80% of households have some cable or satellite these days. :heh: It's not like how it was when we were growing up, so there really isn't much point in keeping it the old way.
