Jarvis Varnado is gonna play in summer league. I believe Pittman and Cole will also.

Mike Miller is going to try to do whatever possible to play, hasn't done anything yet though

So based on what im reading on Sunsentinel and real GM and hoops hype Riley has some tough decisions to make here. Supposedly the team is leaning on taking the small ball approach they used in the finals and ECF with Bosh at Center long term for playoff runs at least but would like a big to hold the spot during the regular season in order to minimize the wear and tear on Bosh.

We have

PG Mario Chalmers
SG Dwyane Wade
SF Lebron James
F/C Chris Bosh
C

Bench

F/C Ronny Turiaf <-- Player option Will probably stay
F/C Joel Anthony
G/F Shane Battier
F Udonis Haslem

Summer League

Dexter Pittman <--Team Option. Likely to stay
Terrel Harris
Norris Cole
Jarvis Varnado

Likely to retire

Mike Miller
James Jones

Likely gone

Juwan Howard
Eddy Curry

Seems like We may kissing Terrel Harris goodbye if we do bring in Ray Allen. Tough to see the kid go because he played hard for us when he saw action but no way we pass up on Ray Allen.

Should Steve Nash decide to come land a hand we may just have him run point with Chalmers coming off the bench. If that happens then Norris Cole gets lost in the shuffle or traded.

From the draft. We have to pray that either Festus or Melo fall to us. Melo can be a solid starter but I doubt he'll fall to us. Festus can be a starter for us but most scouts project him as a solid backup throughout the career.

I agree that the small ball lineup was a bit of fools gold but it's all about matchups. There aren't many teams that have quality centers that cause problems for us.

Quality big man from the draft? Not impossible, but unlikely.

Quality big men being scarce in the league, they go early. If a big shows skills or even the potential of developing them, they get snatched up. Hence Bowie going before Jordan, Oden before Durant, Olawakandi and Kwame Brown going #1....

I'm not unhappy with Joel, with Pittman being the future. Small ball can work. It's proven. We won this year. The Bulls won six. If we can get RayRay I'd be ecstatic.

James Jones said on the Le Batard show yesterday that he isn't planning on retiring this year. He said that when he does retire it will be as a member of the Heat. But he thinks the team has good chance at winning multiple titles and he wants to be a part of that.

I'm excited to see what Varnado has done the last 2 years

I only have a problem with "Small ball" if we have no choice but small ball. I don't think we NEED a 7 footer anymore, but having an athletic 6'10 player with some type of offense next to Bosh that can run the floor well and swap time at center would be good.

Dude's like Joel and Turiaf are close to the size requirement but can be ignored when we're on offense

I like james Jones sharp shooting. But my problem ith him is that he's a "one trick pony". He can shoot yes. But nothing else. Miller on the other hand can shoot, will rebound and at least try on defense. But that fukka can never stay healthy for an entire game let alone a season. I swear ive never sean Miller leave the court looking as good as he did getting on the court. There's always a limp or holding of a fist or something aquired during the game

:wtf: If JJ and Mike are gone this team has to keep Harris, no? I can't see them going into next year with just Wade/Allen and Bron/Battier.

Well you're right but i dont see us bringing both MM and JJ back.

Someone tell me how did we get a 1st round pick this year? I could have sworn we traded all our picks for the next 5 years

you can't trade consecutive year picks(unless draft night)

last year went to the Cavs, Toronto/Cavs getting 2013 and 2015 in some order
