Yes, they can. They can see a reasonable guess of what the tip was added to the order. We can tell if you didnt add one at all, or if its in the $3-$5 area. So if your DoorDash order isnt getting picked up quick, most likely they know you aint tipping (or tipping enough). With DoorDash, the driver has the option to decline if the pay is low, and believe me, if you aint tipping, im not picking up that food.

UberEats is the same way. Just about a month ago (at least in my area) they started showing the amount with tip up front.

Just a fair warning if you decide to not tip for the driver to get your food. The healthier the tip, the faster that food will get to you.

Some people change the tip after the food is delivered or in route, no?

Nice. I hear California decent for delivery apps. All kinds of bonuses out there. That might be LA tho. Not too familiar with San Diego. I know y'all got the issue with the state and trying to get the companies to consider you actual employees or something like that too. Seems like the pay good out there but there's all the legal issues too.

From what I hear, some people do that, yes. It hasnt happened to me though. Not sure why people would want to short change people that are delivering your food.

Yeah I been loving the new UberEats expected payout thing. I usually try to aim for at least $1 per mile unless it's really slow. Grubhub also shows amount but not mileage. So I'm more picky on there. Postmates don't show shyt so it's gotta be real slow for me to take an order over an uber.

On Ubereats they have an hour after to change it. Haven't had any issues so far. Have had a few tip a bit more.

I wear my mask even when it's just leave at door and don't be eating fries out the bag. Don't know why anyone would be dumb enough to mess up their money over an item that can be purchased from the value menu. Usually if I'm hungry and get a fast food order I'll get some small value menu items while picking up the order from drive thru. But not worth getting reported over no damn fries.

Wonder if it'll be all at once or gradually. I think gradually most likely and depending on market. Maybe the slower markets first. Gotta see what they do with those people that can't switch over. Like my boy got banned from Uber over him cutting his hair off and looking different than his profile pic, from his claim. So wonder what'll happen to people like that and how many less drivers there will be. Also wonder if this will affect any restaurants. I'm sure all or most would convert to Uber Eats but I think most already do both already, at least from what I've seen. I think Walmart is the only one that's Postmates specific from what I've seen. Better for everything to move to Uber since they're much better.

Yup. I feel like it'll be a fast transition because of the sudden announcement and the fact that Uber been owning PM since September/October. If it makes them pay their drivers better and not rip us off than I'm all for it.:manny:

I already switched over Grubhub and I only do Postmates when I want to bump a few more dollars after driving for Ghub all night.

fukk these food delivery services I tell these goofballs to leave my food at the door because of Covid. These fools still stand at my door at my door ringing for 5 minutes. What part of leave at the door you don’t understand. I’m not giving you a extra tip.:mjtf:

Beside the shyt being more expensive then it used to stupid drivers another reason why I started using these apps less. I tell them to leave it on my porch and ring the doorbell and they can’t even do that

Postmates is so fukking garbage. You can make no type of money on that shyt atleast in my area. When Uber acquired them that's when all the fukkery with the $2 and some change orders started popping up.
Hopefully they dead that shyt completely with the full migration to UberEats.:camby:

The food delivery industry has to continue to consolidate if it ever wants to be consistently profitable. I wonder who Uber will buy next.

Hopefully this increases number of people delivering food Uber eats. Seems like Uber in general went down in my area due to the stimulus checks

Fully agreed. I still think Grubhub is the best one to use. I make on average $12 per delivery. When I was doing PM, I made like $3.50 on a good day:hhh:
