He's not afraid of contact, he just used to slipping screens to focus on getting buckets. This kid was the consensus #1 player in the country in 2020. He's always been the focus of the offense. Screens and that other shyt are dirty work that most players in the league don't wanna do.
And those G-League games should be taken with a grain of salt. First games after a year off, conditioning ass, and he playing with dudes he don't even know forreal. Remember when everyone was worried about Kuminga shot because of 13 G-League games last year? Kid shot over 50% from the field and 34 from three. Gotta give them a chance to actually learn and grow.
Being the #1 consensus player in the country means nothing these days as a lot of those guys ended up flopping in the league. I also wouldn't discount those G-League games considering the fact that Wiseman looked completely overwhelmed even when he was out there on the floor playing. If he couldn't even put in work against cats that won't end up in the NBA, what makes you think he can do it right away when he gets back out there in live games?
Dude is years behind in development and leaving Memphis early hurt him more than it helped.
