[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjCPNGlGUf8]WWE Y2J (CHRIS JERICHO) RETURN PROMO! (2012) [HD] - YouTube[/ame]

Pull up a chair, put on some Fozzy, and let's talk about how horribly Jericho's recent run flopped. Those trailers had people hyped, and then Jericho debuted with that horrible trolling non-sense. And then his run only got worse from there :snoop:

The feud with Punk wasn't bad imo, but this "troll" gimmick was a huge flop.

You would think Jericho's excellence at midcarding not translating into being a top guy was proven enough times by now.

Man this sucked. This combined with Jericho's general attitude since about 2010 has made me never want to see him again. Just go away, you've done enough.

You could count the matches he won in 8 months on one hand, by the way. Just a total, all around failure.

It was weak as hell.

And it looked good on him because he came in acting like he was some kind of crossover mainstream superstar who was doing WWE a favor.

nikkas loved his trolling while it was going on. I thought his wordless comeback promo and slow heel turn was cool. The jacket schtick was funny. No memorable matches from him but aside from Brock/Cena there haven't been memorable matches in the E all year. :ld:

But yeah, this run was a failure.

The Punk feud was good. Had a good match with Zig at SummerSlam. And that's it.

This run was weak as fukk... and I've been a fan of Jericho's since about '98. It was even worse than his '04-'05 mediocrity phase, even worse than his '07-early '08 flopping comeback phase... this one just felt like he was tryin' to get a few nice checks.

That Punk feud sucked too. There's really not a lazier Punk feud you can have than accusing him of drinking.

I was live at the Jan 4th episode and my reaction went from :dj2: holding my Y2J sign to :why: along with the rest of the crowd. I liked his match with Punk but besides that and the jacket, the entire run was worthless. Him taking non-stop Ls didn't help Dolph at all when he put him over.

Did he even put Dolph over? Pretty sure I remember being :why: because Jericho pretty much just beat Dolph's ass and won the feud. shyt made no sense at all.

True he was whipping on Dolph now that I think about it. But then Dolph "ended his career" so I guess he won the war. :myman:

Gonna be honest, I liked the not talking a lot. It was great, and had people wondering.

Then, he started talking. That's when it tanked. He slipped on the Alcohol on Raw, no one in the stadium even cared about his mediocre Wrestlemania match with Punk, then Dolph,:snoop: Terrible.

Also to add to this thread:
Chris Jericho recently contacted WWE about returning for a short run leading up to WrestleMania that would involve Jericho putting over young talent. The sides are still talking, but as we've seen in the past, the major issues holding up the deal are Jericho not being able to commit to a full-time schedule (due to his outside projects) and Jericho wanting full control over said outside projects.

:whoa:
