This is a younger and dumber generation of Italian soccer fans. Back in the 80's and 90's players such as Ruud Gullit, Frank Rijkaard and Edgar Davids were all fan favorites. They appreciated their talents not crap on their race like they do today.
This is a completely inaccurate assessment. Yes the Serie A was the greatest football league in the world in the 90s and Gullit, Rijkaard, George Weah, R9 etc were treated like Gods, but that was coz they were Footballing Gods, the most stacked footballing decade and they played for the best league and the best teams and were super stars.
The main and real reason for the spike in blatant outward racism is because Europe as a whole has a "******" problem, made doubly worse by their dog eat dog Capitalist system and an influx of highly skilled and qualified Arabs from places CACs made unstable like Syria. The racism was and has always been there, but now non whites are posing a direct threat in their local economies, sexual market, blacks can be seen in non sporting arenas/everyday life etc and when whites collectively feel threatened black people get it the worse.
You see white people don't mind living in the same neighborhood as Michael Jordan, they'll even brag about it, but when random non famous regular black people start moving in, there's white flight... Problem is that Europe is their home continents, so instead of white flight, you get white backslash, a spike in outward embrace of white racist ideology coz that fear of genetic anhilation and anxiety kicks in.
