Blah is it Oochie Wally or One Mic? Lets not act like the albums following 96, including collab with The Firm, were 5 mic worthy. I listen to Nas btw but now gargling his nut like most Stans.

Doesn't necessarily make them weed plates either. Stillmatic, God's Son, and The Lost Tapes was a crazy run. Distant Relatives and Life Is Good are great too. The others have their moments, but fall short.

Thank you for a sensible reply with insight and subject-verb agreement instead of a emotional driven neg, but we will agree to disagree. Each of the lps you mentioned had maybe 3 out of 12 solid tracks on the album. Especially stillmatic. Can only think of Ether and One Mic that comes to mind off the album is memorable. It Was Written was the last album that I can play from start to finish.

Every Ghetto

God's Son:

Get Down
Made You Look
Last Real nikka Alive
Thugz Mansion
Master Mind
Warrior's Song
Revolutionary Warfare
Dance
Heaven

Lost Tapes:

Every song except "Everybody's Crazy".

Distant Relatives:

Pretty much the whole thing

Life Is Good:

No Introduction
Locomotive
A Queen's Story
World's An Addiction
You Wouldn't Understand
Back Then
Stay
Cherry Wine
Bye Baby
Nasty
Roses

IWW WORD PLAY WAS CRAZY!! I think no album during that time was fukkin with it lyrically, nor big or anyone else. I've always said that the only drawback in my mind was the masfioso-style backdrop that was the album theme.

That's my opinion too.

Funny how the dude you responded to only named radio songs from stillmatic when what goes around and your da man are the standout tracks on that album (at least for the people that actually gave stillmatic a listen :mjpls:)

The I in Team
so much quotable on this abum

"and thug changes, and love changes, and best friends became strangers, word up"

"I got no game it's just some bytches who understand my story"

"I'll be flooded with ice so hellfire can't scorch me"

"Nas is menage a trois' on Mount Aire lodges
We like a smooth fam', but rougher than how DeBarge is"

"there's one life one love so there can only be one king"

"my creation was for blacks to kill blacks"

Keep telling nikkas but they don't be listening :wow:

It Was Written is possibly the only album I can think of where a rapper reached star status, but was also bringing grade A lyricism and concepts to the table.

All the more reason I'm still baffled at IWW getting the backlash it did when it came out. I could understand if it was an album like Nastradamus, but IWW was solid for the most part.

Just a product of the time with the backpack movement. This album and Stakes is High dropping the same day was sort of the start of the Backpack vs Jiggy NY Civil War which was pretty fukking silly and wasnt resolved until the Blueprint and Stillmatic dropped

Someone asked what unreleased tracks came out of the IWW sessions and listed De ja Vu. Dejavu and understanding where track Nas did early on, probably before the IWW concept was fully conceived. I have been compiling some IWW era tracks and here is what I have:

1. Escobar Season Begins (Freestyle)
2. The Foulness (Freestyle-Young, Gifted & Black)
3. Rhymes, Cash, Weed, Cars (Freestyle)
4. Silent Murder (Unreleased)
5. True Dialect (Unreleased)
6. Watch Dem nikkas (Added 3rd verse)
7. Affirmative Action (Remix)
8. Street Dreams (added 3rd verse)
9. Street Dreams Feat. R. Kelly (Remix)
10. Escobar 97 (Soundtrack)
11. Take it in Blood (Alternate version(s)

Aside from Deja Vu, Understanding anyone have anything else? I think the Pete Rock remix of street dreams is unofficial and I wouldn't count it. Also, I know there were other foulness freestyles but his one, to me, is the only one that I think is album worthy.
