Probably was never recorded. I remember when CAnibus debut was coming out, he was supposed to have production from Rza and Primo. We found out later that canibus turned down what D'angelo would later record as "Devil's Pie" and the Rza beat never happened. Things happen and people get sidetracked.

Going into a studio is a job for rappers; clock in, clock out

shyt like this is why i get mad at method man. a method man/nas track could have been as big as the nas/az or big/jay tracks... meth left so much on the table it irks the fukk outta me cuz 93-98 method man was a fukking animal and beasted EVERY feature. yet he made sure to make the session with fred durst for n 2gether now

Guess ima have to just live with Grand Finale

:mjcry: always wanted to hear nas and Genius on the same song. They both got that mysterious wisdom. To hear em 2gether on a RZA track would hav been:ohlawd:

And to think Nas was asked to join the clan but passed:whoo: he fiits in perfectly.

Would've been dope to add him in and kick U-God out:pachaha:

They would never kick anyone out. Where did you hear that they asked him to join?

you can see on the back of this 'It Was Written' advance promo CD it says that the album was going to feature D'Angelo & Methodman. Ultimately those tracks never got released on the album, but that dont mean they not classic material, knowing all the amazing Nas shyt out there that never saw a release date, or only on 'Lost Tapes'

I've never even heard bout these tracks tho, wonder if they still exist. It's been more than 20 years, and shyt gets lost. I wish they'd go ahead and start releasing Box-Set versions of these albums already, with the rest of the studio sessions bonus tracks.

Or at least finally get around to that god damn Lost Tapes 2

we still need that 'No Such Thing As White Jesus' track too.

on another note, 'No Such Thing As White Jesus' finally did get released, sort of, on Lost Tapes 2.

The song name was changed to 'Royalty' instead, - I guess to avoid controversy?? And they replaced Frank Ocean with a weaker singer lady named RaVaughn who really doesn't do it justice. Which is a damn shame, I'm not sure why they did the song dirty like that when so many people had been buzzing and anticipating that song, and HitBoy had already found the hardrive with the original.

Was already a shame when it didnt make it onto 'Life Is Good' as it was originally intended, but in my opinion I think its kinda even worse that they quietly dropped it as a neutered weaker re-done version. Lost Tapes 2 was hella disappointing.

I agree that it was probably was a weaker, neutered version, but I don't think LT2 was a disappointment. I would have left it off and added Snitch Alibi, Colors, What it Is, or something like that, but LT2 was far from a disappointment.
