That’s when they used to put classy black women on TV
Our collective image will rise again when we can get back to that being the image of BW.
No one can tell me the people pulling the strings in media didn’t set this shyt in motion. The last generation was trying to be Whitley, Hilary, Ashley, Moesha, later on Destiny’s Child, etc. Now these girls are watching popular Black men AND women in entertainment making strip club culture mainstream Black popular culture, so they think they need to follow it.
I mean, we as a people fell for it because it was our own ppl selling it to us, but when we fix our image, that alone will help bring us along.
A big part of Taylor’s appeal is the fact that she’s sultry without looking like a ho. That’s the classic beauty/appeal that LASTS.
Which is why women like Halle, Nia Long, Angela Bassett, Kenya Moore, (Salma Hayek & JLo as women of a different race for example), etc were/are still considered attractive as they age(d). It’s also why a woman like Marjorie Harvey is in her 50s still looking great on the arm of her 60ish hubby Steve Harvey.
That’s why I said Taylor “gets it”. Being a lady (or at least looking like one) never goes out of style.
She’s gon be just fine.
